How We Got Started

The Making a Difference Foundation was founded in December 2016 by the executive team of CHG Healthcare, a healthcare staffing company. Their premise was simple, support and assist CHG employees and healthcare providers explore and enrich their passion for giving back.  With the executives original Founder’s Grant and ongoing contributions from CHG Healthcare, CHG employees, and external supporters, the foundation continues focus on growing and expanding its mission.

Our Mission

The Making a Difference Foundation is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to unleashing the humanitarian passion in others. We believe that each person can create a ripple effect of positive change in the world, and often needs only the right opportunity and support to do so.

The foundation’s primary focus is to help healthcare providers deliver direct care and healthcare education to underserved communities. We do this by matching providers’ skills, and their desire to make a difference, with high-quality medical missions. By partnering with world class mission organizations, we offer a variety of unique volunteer opportunities and locations from which to choose.

Secondarily, the foundation supports CHG Healthcare employees in their desire to give back to the communities where they live and work. We provide grants to the causes and nonprofits that employees are actively involved in or that creates local, sustainable, healthcare improvements.

Long Term Vision

We want to help healthcare providers match their humanitarian desires and medical skills to medical missions. To accomplish this, we will work with the nation’s leading nonprofit organizations who are experts in effectively operating international and disaster driven medical missions, both nationally and internationally. We will provide hundreds of mission opportunities so healthcare providers can find the right experience, with the necessary skills, at the perfect time, to the desired location, to unleash their passion.  We will support the success of our nonprofit partners by introducing and connecting highly qualified providers to their organization.
