Join International Medical Relief and experience one of Africa’s friendliest, safest, most secure, and stable countries. Volunteers will be traveling around to small villages providing lifesaving care and extensive health education. Your team will work with some very special patients during your trip, including a community of elderly patients and patients with Albinism. Make a difference by providing care, education, and empowering local communities.
In Uganda, 16 women die every day in childbirth. Hygiene in public hospitals is among the worst in Africa. There is no free medical or dental care for the poor, and many live below the poverty line. Under-nutrition and micro-nutrient deficiencies are highly prevalent in women and children. Providers can expect to see cases of malaria, respiratory infections, diarrheal disease, along with many other acute medical and dental issues.
