International Medical Relief (IMR) is a leader in global health and development, working in 50 countries around the world. This trip to Costa Rica is one of IMR’s signature trips, offering special features and exclusive opportunities unique from the standard experience. Ziplining, jungle walks, bird watching, beaches, waterfalls, adventure parks, volcanoes, hot springs, surfing, horseback riding, and seeing monkey’s are just some of the amazing experiences you’ll have on this trip.
You will care for patients of every age. Pop-up clinics will take place in a different school or community center every day. Volunteers can expect a high patient load with an emphasis on general health education. Be prepared to treat infections, skin conditions, stomach issues, general pain, hypertension, diabetes, and respiratory conditions. Dentist and dental assistants are in high demand and will be extremely busy with extractions, treating abscesses, and general cleanings.
