Date: August 3-10, 2019
Partner: International Medical Relief
Estimated Airfare: $1,800
About the mission: In partnership with Song Saa and the Cambodian government, you will be providing acute medical and dental care to the isolated islands of the Koh Rong Archipelago. Too small and remote for fully staffed clinics, you will travel by boat each day to treat the local tribes that live on the various islands. One of the most important ways to make a difference in these small and isolated communities is to provide healthcare education – especially regarding tropical diseases and female health. You will be returning each night to the beautiful villas of Song Saa Private Island.
About the country: Cambodia is one of the most charming countries in Asia. Its pristine beaches, tranquil rice paddies, and lush jungle landscapes are part of the allure of this beautiful country. Despite Cambodia’s tragic history, it is a country with an inspiringly optimistic and warm population.
Your trip will start in Sihanoukville, which is the departure point for the Koh Rong Archipelago. These islands deliver an off-the-radar experience where many landscapes still remain untouched.
About International Medical Relief: This is a Signature Trip through International Medical Relief, a nonprofit providing mobile medical clinics and sustainable health education to undeserved communities in 57 countries around the world. This mission has the opportunity for a trip extension to Bangkok.
