About International Medical Relief: International Medical Relief (IMR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2002 with the believe that knowledge of basic health facts and access to healthcare should not be the prerogative of select nations, regions, or classes, but should be shared by as many people as possible. International Medical Relief provides healthcare to under-served and vulnerable people around through world. International Medical Relief recruits qualified medical teams and offers short-term assignments for volunteer doctors, dentists, and other healthcare professionals to provide acute medical care, dental care, and community health education.

About the country: Located in East Africa, Tanzania is home to Mt. Kilimanjaro and over 120 ethnic groups, with Swahili being the national language. Tanzania is mountainous and densely forested. Three of Africa’s great lakes are partly within Tanzania.

About the clinic site: Your team will provide healthcare services, equipment, and education in five different small villages.  The primary goal is to care for locals with treatable and often preventable conditions. You may treat conditions related to neonatal disorder, lower respiratory infections, HIV/AIDS, STDs, malaria, sepsis, and diarrheal diseases.

About the mission: Full COVID-19 vaccination is required for participation. You will have the opportunity to provide community health education, medical care, preventative care, women’s care, dental care, and hygiene education to hundreds of patients during the week.
