About A Broader View Volunteers: A Broader View is a USA based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. They offer a unique medical immersion experience for volunteers with flexible dates and length of trips. Volunteers can choose trips that range from one week to two months. Finding a location, project, and date to volunteer with these projects is up to the individual and A Broader View is available to help individuals and groups navigate this process.
About the country: Nairobi is the capital and the largest of Kenya. Known as the safari capital of Africa, Kenya is an energetic, modern city located at an elevation of about 5,500ft. Our medical mission focus is to promote measurable, substantive public health advances in Kenya and throughout the region. Health issues and common causes of death; diarrheal diseases, HIV/AIDS, TB, neonatal diseases, and other non-communicable diseases.
About the clinic: This is a 25-bed capacity hospital and offers personalized services. There is 24-hour outpatient services, pharmacy, radiology and ultrasound imaging, ambulance and a fully operational theater and consultancy. The hospital runs a comprehensive care clinic, baby clinic, and counseling services. Orthopedic procedures like hip and knee replacement are available. Specialized clinics: Dental, Optical, Physiotherapy, Chemotherapy, Nutrition and many more.The hospital is in downtown Nairobi near the Kawangware slums area.
ABV Programs Include: Homestay accommodations, 3 meals per day, airport transfers on arrival/departure in Nairobi, cultural activities and optional tours available.
