About A Broader View Volunteers: A Broader View is a USA based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. They offer a unique medical immersion experience for volunteers with flexible dates and length of trips. Volunteers can choose trips that range from one week to two months. Finding a location, project, and date to volunteer with these projects is up to the individual and A Broader View is available to help individuals and groups navigate this process.
About the country: Known as “the Pearl of Africa”, Uganda is located in east-central Africa. There are dozens of ethnic groups, dozens of small parks, public gardens and large freshwater lakes. About the size of Britain, Uganda packs a lot into one small country. Although Uganda’s government and economy are robust, medical health and rural village hygiene. Free medical care is rarely available and most people in the villages live in extreme poverty.
About the mission: Volunteers will be based in a neighborhood village outside of the city of Kampala and support the work at two health outposts. Special focus on maternity needs, childhood malnutrition, public hygiene, malaria, elderly and house-bound patients. In this program volunteers make a difference by being part of water and sanitation program, HIV education, special needs children and family planning and reproductive health.
ABV Programs Include: Volunteer house, 3 meals per day, airport transfers on arrival/departure in Entebbe, Uganda, cultural activities and optional tours available.
