Hey everyone!
I want you to think about the word “Community” for a second and what it means to you. Your community can be so many different things! Your community can be as small as your immediate family or friend group, a club you are a part of, your place of work, the neighborhood or city you live in; and if the pandemic has taught us anything, your community can be virtual and represented online.
Getting involved in your community is so important. It can help give you a sense of belonging, make you feel good by helping and connecting with others, and can help provide a sense of purpose by getting involved with organizations that align with some of your passions! I would like to encourage each one of you to get involved in your community and check out some volunteer opportunities near you today! These opportunities could be anything from donating items during a donation drive to helping to put on an event to raise money for an organization or cause.
As a member of the Board of Directors for the Making a Difference Foundation, I have seen firsthand how the foundation wants to partner with you and the organization you volunteer with by providing them a Local Grant. Our Making a Difference Foundation team can help walk you through exactly what you need to help get your organization the funds it needs to create change and make a big impact in your community. It feels amazing to help others, to be a part of something bigger than yourself, and to do good in your community. I look forward to hearing all the ways my fellow CHG employees connect with their communities!
