As many of you have seen, wildfires have recently spread across Los Angeles, California and have caused widespread devastation, destroyed thousands of acres and structures, and displaced entire communities. Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this disaster.
The Making a Difference Foundation is responding to the LA wildfires through our Disaster Relief Program. After carefully assessing the situation, we have identified and vetted several nonprofit organizations that are providing a variety of essential resources to impacted areas. In total, the foundation is directing $25,000 in relief funding to the following organizations: Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, World Central Kitchen, International Medical Corps, and the Saint John’s Health Center Foundation. These nonprofits are providing critical support, including food, healthcare, and supplies to evacuees and first responders.
We understand that recovery efforts will be ongoing, which is why we are dedicated to continuing to monitor the situation and providing additional support as needed.
If you are interested in donating to organizations you can trust, we encourage you to consider contributing to one of the following:
- Baby2Baby – Providing supplies for those impacted including diapers, food, formula, water, clothing, blankets and hygiene products.
- California Community Foundation – Supports immediate and long-term recovery efforts for major CA wildfires and preparedness efforts.
- Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles – Assists in rebuilding homes for those affected by wildfire.
- International Medical Corps – Providing essential relief supplies—including hygiene kits, first-aid kits and KN95 masks.
- Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation – Directly supports the LAFD providing funds for essential tools and equipment.
- Pasadena Humane Society – Providing emergency boarding for animals in impacted areas.
- Saint John’s Health Center Foundation – Wildfire Relief Fund provides support to impacted Saint John’s caregivers, physicians, and friends. Saint John’s Health Center is a worksite of CHG Healthcare placed physicians.
- World Central Kitchen – Prepares and serves meals to first responders and those impacted by the LA wildfires.
