Hawaii Wildfires – Disaster Relief

As many of you have seen by now, the wildfires in Hawaii have destroyed large portions of land on both Maui and the Big Island, devastating communities and claiming the lives of over 100 people. Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this disaster as we take action to help.

Because of its Disaster Relief program, the Making a Difference Foundation is responding to the Hawaii wildfires by supporting organizations that are on the ground helping those in need. We have identified several nonprofits in the area that are providing a wide variety of emergency response efforts. The Making a Difference Foundations is directing $25,000 in relief funds to the Hawaii Community Foundation, Maui Food Bank, the Maui Humane Society, Direct Relief, and the Maui Health Foundation’s employee assistance fund. These nonprofits are providing healthcare, food, water, shelter, and many other resources aimed at both short and long-term relief efforts.

The people of Hawaii will likely need support well into the future as they rebuild their lives and communities. If you’re interested in helping or want to donate to organizations you can trust, we encourage you to consider the following:

Aloha United Way

Americares

American Red Cross

Centers for Disaster Philanthropy

Direct Relief

Global Giving

Hawaii Community Foundation

Maui Food Bank

Maui Health Foundation

Maui Humane Society

Salvation Army

Thank you for your continued support as we strive to make a difference in communities around the world.
